Hey I am a rising 9th grader looking for good extracurriculars. I have good school clubs like model U.N, speech and debate, and Fbla. My major depends on the school I go to, but I am aiming for the Ivy League, UC's, and Top 20s. I am looking for internships and summer programs. Any recommendations?
Heyo!
I would recommend deciding your major just so everything else feels more solidified. I'd personally say for extracurriculars, make sure to have some diversity! You have a solid lineup for a law or business track, so maybe throw in an art or hobby club. It lightens the load when you add something that you genuinely like, and it makes you seem more memorable.
In terms of internships and summer programs, based on your current extracurriculars, reach out to a council member in your area, or perhaps a corporation that you're passionate about. If anything, you could start your own project! Colleges love that!
Best of luck! :)
Hello there!
I feel as though you should pick your major before deciding on your schools, find something that you are passoniate about and expand on it. I would reccomend clubs you will stick with and are actually passionate about, you can always switch later if you do not like it.
Kind regards
Hello! Those are already strong clubs that provide a strong extracurricular base. My recommendation is to join a more creative club to show that you are well rounded. This is helpful because most schools want studies that will add more to the college community than academics. I also recommend creating a club as it is a built in leadership position and can show real drive and passion for whatever you choose. This can be about a major you're interested in or even just a hobby you really love, either looks impressive.
