Do APs in senior year matter?

I'm a current Junior but I haven't taken any APs, even though my school offers over 20. The APs my school offers Freshman-Junior year just didn't interest me (since they were only science or history), but next year I am taking 4 (AP Calc, AP Gov/Econ, APES, AP Lit). I've taken 6 honors classes throughout high school and am doing two classes at my community college related to my major (urban studies).

I'm just worried that my academics are lacking especially compared to my peers. Would a lack of AP classes hurt my chances a lot, especially at the UCs?

If your honors were related to your degree, you might have more leeway because you were going out of your way to focus on your interests. You can explain that in either the additional info section or with one of your essays, if possible. If not, then your ECs have to be really strong. Also, your school demographic may help your case compared to your personal records. How are you compared to other students who might also attend the UCs?
