Are these schools REALLY safeties like this website says? I really don't believe it.

I'm a current junior, with a LOW gpa (2.5) and an ACT of 31. I have good extracurriculars, with me being the current vice president and soon to be president of our Gay-Straight Alliance Club, Varsity Coxswain of the Rowing team (will be captain), selling art work, and volunteering at a food bank and a nursing home.

I'm looking mainly at James Madison Univeristy, George Mason University, Virginia Commonwealth University, and Old Dominion University. I want to major in Nursing.

This site tells me these are all safety schools, but I really don't think that's the case. My GPA is quite honestly, garbage.

I used the chancing system with your GPA and ACT (wasn't sure how it was separated but I did 30 for everything except science which I made 32) but with my extracurriculars for JMU. That put it at a target school with 70%. I think your ECs are what's making them safeties because they're strong enough to cover what your GPA falls behind on. I don't know if you wanted any tips, but I would definitely put more effort into your ECs and in your essays, show your goals clearly so they know that you're striving for success at their campus.
