Marine Biology

I’m interested in pursuing marine biology but haven’t decided on a specific area yet. Could you suggest some potential career paths in this field? As a sophomore, I have time to explore different options. Are there any beneficial marine biology programs in the Bay Area or online? Which colleges are well-regarded for this major? Any suggestions for personal projects I could do?

I have a decent unweighted GPA of 3.9 and am taking several science courses. This year, I’m enrolled in Biotechnology 1-2 and will take Biotechnology 3-4 and Chemistry for Biotechnology next year. In my senior year, I’ll be taking Bio Manufacturing and either AP Biology or AP Environmental Science, though I haven’t decided yet. Additionally, I’m taking community college courses this summer, including General Physics 2 and Survey of Oceanography, and plan on taking more next year. I’m also retaking the SAT, aiming for a score around 1550.

I am also interested in biomedical engineering but I still like marine biology more lol.
