Heyyy! So I’m gonna be a senior next year (scary), and I’m like hella worried about applications for college. I’ve taken 7 APs so far, I’m taking four more next year. I’ve gotten 5’s on three of them, the rest I’m waiting for. I got a 31 ACT and 1430 SAT, but I want to take the SAT again. I have officer positions for three of my clubs (secretary for two honors societies, and website manager for NHS), I got the Northwestern book award, and I have a 3.9 unweighted and 4.8 weighted GPA. I’m pretty involved in music, so I’m really hoping that’s the thing that sets me apart or gives me a little oomph I guess. I was in my school’s rock band this year (it’s a class) and I’m doing it again next year. I play three instruments and make my own music which I’ve started to post on Spotify, keyword started. DOES THE MUSIC THING HELP? Or does it really not set me apart at all? Do I have a decent resume or whatever? What should I improve? I’m so sorry I’m tweaking out right now because I don’t really have much community involvement besides tutoring people. If you stayed long enough to read my yap session, thank you, I appreciate you very much and I sincerely apologize.
Good afternoon!
I believe you have a very strong application if you are interested in pursuing music! I believe that taking an internship or volunteer opportunities with a local organization (or something else you are passionate about) will help show a narrative in your application!
Kind regards.
okay thank you so much! ill research some music volunteer opportunities around my area!
